I really like information gap exercises. It's challenging enough to have them really make a racket, talking to each other as well as filling in the blanks.
Make two photocopies of any poster, application form, etc. Then whiteout different information on each copy, so the students have to ask each other questions to fill out their paper.
I always use my Top Secret 'carrels' using file folders bent, cut, and stapled, so they can't see their partner's page easily. - Leni D
